Historic Preservation
Color Alchemist Company of Painters specializes in historic preservation and building restoration. Shown here are a number of historic homes in the Old Town neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia, a city associated with George Washington. From a painters's perspective, historic preservation requires a comprehensive approach to substrate repairs, always insuring a sound, stable, waterproof surface over which to apply the paint film. The following projects illustrate how this principle may be applied.
