We specialize in the restoration of historic homes and buildings. Shown here are a number of historic homes in the Old Town neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia, a city associated with George Washington. Historic restoration requires a comprehensive approach to substrate repairs, always insuring a sound, stable, waterproof surface over which to apply paint. The following projects illustrate how this principle may be applied.

This simple-looking late eighteenth century townhouse exterior was fully restored by The Color Alchemist Company. Existing built up paint layers were removed by hand. Note the narrow alley typical of this urban setting.
